Has Your Bank Seen the Light?
I told you late last week about some huge news. But you know what? I’m nervous that you got started on your weekend “relaxation” a little early and missed it. So I’m going to throw it in your face one more time just so you appreciate how unbelievable this announcement is. So here goes.
You know those banks that you’ve been busy hating for the last 4 years? The ones who were so short-sighted that they didn’t realize they were more the problem than the solution? Well, guess what – they finally opened their eyes and saw the light.
Almost every major bank in the country has decided that short sales are the only legitimate method for bringing stability to the housing market. They’ve come out with big, fancy statements saying “it depends on a number of factors” and “if a modification doesn’t work.” But the bottom line is mods almost never work, other factors don’t mean jack, and short sales are the only way to go.
So not only have the banks kind of admitted that you and I have been right all along but they’re even offering cash incentives to go through with a short sale. You can get 12k, 20k, even 30k CASH on your short sale. It just astonishes me that banks can turn around just like that. Something that was a worst-case scenario for them now makes so much sense that they’re not only losing on the sale but paying major dough to go through with it.
I love the irony. I wish they were quoting me on their sites saying things as obvious as they’re saying. But sadly, unless I change my name to JPCory, or CitiCory, or Wells FarCory I don’t think it’ll happen.
So for now you and I will just have to realize that we had the answer all along. And those of you who took my advice and got in the game way before this point will be positioned just like me to make a killing.
