The Value of Being Cool
My bud Frank just wrote a great article about the value of being cool. He’s definitely the authority on the subject, so I’d listen to him if I were you.
You can check it out over here: http://frankkern.com/?p=4
He gave away the secret to getting loyal customers and keeping them. The secret, he says, is being cool.
Sound good to me!
Basically his point was that people might come through your site in hordes, check out tons of stuff, but they won’t actually fork over the cash unless you give them something. Unless you help them out somehow. Unless you’re … cool to them.
Here’s a prime example of being cool. Frank and I were at an event together and he was telling someone how cool a certain kind of watch was. I happened to be wearing that exact watch at the time so I just headed over to him and gave him the watch.
He was stunned.
Now that’s called being cool. And it proves his point. If you’re cool to someone, they’ll remember you. And if they remember you with those good feelings, they’ll keep you in mind when it comes time to buy.
So if you want to attract positive attention, actually be useful and helpful to your clients. Give them something they can actually use and give it to them for FREE. Don’t worry about what it costs you. Because when they realize how awesome you are and how much you have to offer they’ll come running.
And then you can cash in big. So always remember the value of being cool.
