Surprising Unemployment
Some not so bright news to darken your weekend a little. Unemployment is hovering even closer to the ominous 10% mark. It’s been around 9.6% for the last three months and many people expected the numbers to drop even more. Not that 9.6% is low by any stretch of the imagination.
The new rate is UP to 9.8%. So not only do we have an additional 0.2% of the workforce out of work. But the trend is heading in the wrong direction. So forecasts for the growth of the economy and reduction of unemployment need to take a long look at their numbers again.
In November only 39,000 jobs were added to the economy. This number is lower by far than even the most pessimistic economists were willing to predict. And just to see the whole picture for a second, there are currently 15.1 million people unemployed. And nearly 50% of them have been out of work for more than 2 years.
So it’s a quite a deep rut that we need to pull ourselves out of. So keep the short sale work moving, keep your eyes out for the right opportunity, and make a difference immediately.
